C-WINS Advocates for Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccine Awareness at SGF Office

The Centre for Well-being and Integrated Nutrition Solutions (C-WINS) continues to lead critical conversations on immunization by engaging key government stakeholders. In a recent high-level advocacy meeting, C-WINS met with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, ably represented by Dr. Maurice Nnamdi Owen, Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, and Dr. Umobong, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office.
During the meeting which held at the conference room of the SGF office on Monday February 17, 2025, the C-WINS advocacy team highlighted the importance of the Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine and the urgent need to create public awareness and build trust in communities. They solicited the SGF’s support to amplify the message and encourage all states to actively participate in the vaccination campaign.
The SGF office committed to engaging state governments, ensuring that the message reaches Secretaries to State Governments (SSGs) during their meetings. This move will further strengthen collaboration between the Federal and State Governments to boost vaccine uptake and achieve the national target of 95% coverage.
By working together, C-WINS, the Federal Ministry of Health, and NPHCDA are taking strategic steps to prevent new infections and strengthen immunity against Measles and Rubella in Nigeria.
C-WINS remains committed to ensuring that every child gets vaccinated and protected. Together, we can achieve a healthier future for all.
