2024 Children’s Day: C-WINS and Partners provide health services to IDPs, Orphans, and Vulnerable Children
In commemoration of 2024 Children’s Day in Nigeria, the Center for Well-being, and Integrated Nutrition Solutions (C-WINS) partnered with the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) to celebrate Nigerian children, bringing joy and hope to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Orphans, and Vulnerable children in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The event was held at the AMAC event centre, Apo, where hundreds of children gathered to play, learn and receive health care services.
Every year, May 27th is set aside to celebrate Nigerian children. It also provides opportunities for organizations like C-WINS to carry out activities advocating for enhanced child nutrition, and child protection laws, promoting access to education and healthcare, raising awareness on child rights, launching nutrition programs, and hosting forums for stakeholders to discuss children’s welfare and development. This year, C-WINS provided 100 doses of Vitamin A supplement and Albendazole for deworming for orphans and vulnerable children under the age of 5.
At C-WINS, we believe that every child deserves a healthy start in life. Vitamin A supplements are crucial for boosting immune systems, improving vision, and enhancing overall growth and development. Deworming, on the other hand, is essential for preventing infections that can impair a child’s ability to absorb nutrients and thrive. By providing these vital health interventions, we aim to ensure that these children have the foundation they need for a brighter future.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries the AMAC Chairman, Hon. Christopher Zakka, commended C-WINS and partners for their commitment to improve the health and well-being of orphans and vulnerable children in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory. This collaboration emphasizes the importance of partnerships in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. The children enjoyed various activities, including games, storytelling, and performances, making the day truly memorable. As we celebrated this special day, C-WINS remains resolute in our mission to improve the health and well-being of children and communities in Nigeria, ensuring that no child is left behind. We will continue to work tirelessly to reach more children with life-saving health interventions and support.
