Data Scientist
Summary of the role:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Data Scientist to support our programs and interventions. The successful candidate will work with the team to use data-driven insights to design solutions, optimise program delivery, evaluate impact, and guide strategic decisions. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with a passion for social good.
Key responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets related to health, well-being, and nutrition programs.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models to predict program outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Visualise data through dashboards and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders, donors, sponsors, and program teams.
- Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate program effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
- Ensure ethical and compliant use of data, maintaining the highest standards of security and privacy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Three to five years of professional experience in data analysis, data modeling, or related roles (experience in health or non-profit sectors is a plus).
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
- Expertise in data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI software, or equivalent.
- Experience with SQL and database management.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, etc.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
