Data Scientist

Summary of the role:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Data Scientist to support our programs and interventions. The successful candidate will work with the team to use data-driven insights to design solutions, optimise program delivery, evaluate impact, and guide strategic decisions. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise with a passion for social good.

Key responsibilities:

• Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets related to health, well-being, and nutrition programs.
• Develop and deploy machine learning models to predict program outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
• Visualise data through dashboards and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders, donors, sponsors, and program teams.
• Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate program effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
• Ensure ethical and compliant use of data, maintaining the highest standards of security and privacy.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Three to five years of professional experience in data analysis, data modeling, or related roles (experience in health or non-profit sectors is a plus).
• Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
• Expertise in data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI software, or equivalent.
• Experience with SQL and database management.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, etc.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
